Susquehanna Commerce Center

The Susquehanna Commerce Center is a new Commercial Office Center located in the City of York. This project is located on a previously vacant 7 acres of abandoned brownfield industrial land.

The Commerce Center will construct two new office buildings each 6 stories in height, with one building having 135,643 square feet of office space and the other with 101,860 square feet of leasable space. In addition to the two new buildings a Historic restoration of a former gas manufacturing facility is being performed. An above ground parking facility is provided to help handle the demands of the approximately 600 workers that call the Commerce Center home.

Given the location of the site in an already developed urban environment and the fact that the property was an abandoned brownfield site the engineering challenges on the project were many.

FCE provided all of the site engineering design for the Commerce Center project as well as incorporated the site design development drawings from the Project’s Architect Wallace Roberts and Todd into the construction drawing set.

FCE has provided coordination efforts between the general contractor and the municipal authorities when unexpected utility conflicts have arose.
