Gateway Gettysburg

Gateway Gettysburg is a proposed mixed use commercial development located on 92 acres in Adams County, Pennsylvania. The proposed development calls for a 250 room hotel and conference center, an Imax movie theatre, a first run movie theater with 3 screens, 49,000 square feet of architecturally themed retail space, a dining area with multiple user possibilities, and two 7,500 square foot single user building spaces.

The driving force behind the development is the historic link to the Gettysburg area and the large number of tourists that visit the area every year. This project is designed to be a destination stop that complements the existing area attractions. In addition, the conference center adds a dimension that currently does not exist in the Gettysburg area and uses the central location of Gettysburg in relation to the large metropolitan centers of the Mid-Atlantic region to attract additional visitors to the area.

The project will have many educational aspects as well from monuments to 3-D interactive learning experiences Gateway Gettysburg will be sure to have something for everyone. Gateway Gettysburg is being developed as a collaborative effort with Jonathan Nehmer Associates Inc. from Rockville Maryland as the Architect.

Period style site lighting will be provided throughout the pedestrian areas and Central Green of Gateway Gettysburg. The Central Green will be a common gathering place for all of the visitors to Gateway Gettysburg just as older towns were once designed.Tree lined streets will create a welcome environment for pedestrians. Fencing and stacked stone walls will be placed along the entrance drives to convey the character of the Gettysburg of an earlier era.

These features, along with appropriate landscaping, will help to establish an overall theme to Gateway Gettysburg.
