Over the years, many environmental problems have occurred as a result of inappropriate planning. Although we cannot always predict the global changes in our environment, we can address the environmental concerns in our region. FCE’s experienced professionals prepare Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) to identify potential environmental liabilities.

The Phase I ESAs are done in accordance with guidelines established by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). They generally consist of two levels of review:

Site Reconnaissance: review of the property to determine potential environmental liabilities, and

Historical Records Review: to determine, within the content of public information sources, any unseen liabilities.
